About us

RCI Insurance Ltd and RCI Life Ltd aim to provide insurance solutions to customers of Mobilize Financial Services’ automobile financing business and are authorised by the Malta Financial Services Authority.

The company offers a comprehensive range of financing and related services for car customers of Renault Group. Backed by an international network, the company has established itself in Malta to deliver and service a portfolio of protection insurance products in a number of European Countries.
In order to strengthen its existing team, the Company is seeking a ‘Chief Legal and Compliance Officer’.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer will lead the Legal and Compliance Department within the Company.
What will you do?

Coordinate compliance to Solvency II regime with the different involved functions (finance, actuary, product, legal, group audit)
Manage more specifically the pillar II aspects of Solvency II (and more precisely governance matters)
Production of Own Risk and Solvency Assessment and regulatory supervisory and public narrative reporting including Solvency and Financial Condition Report and Regular Supervisory Report
Create and update all contractual documents
Participate in the creation and modification of all products contractual documents including those related to regulatory outsourcing contracts underlining distribution activities
Maintenance of the entire contract repository
Undergo both IDD and GDPR desktop audits on a yearly basis of subsidiaries activities
Oversight of the Legal & Compliance Committee
Preparation of all board of directors meetings including the creation of any board / shareholder resolutions
Maintaining and informing management of compliance watch
Oversight of the complaints and litigation function and the responsibilities included in the direct maintenance of the level 3 complaints.
Oversight of the Data Protection Officer’s activities of the companies and liaising with subsidiaries in terms of data subject protections, including the maintenance of DSAR’s and data breaches.
Oversight of the AML activities of the companies especially for RCI Life Ltd & RCI Insurance Ltd
Performance of due diligence on direct payments prior to claims payments being effected.
Collate and produce the AML relation Risk Evaluation Questionnaire for the FIAU
Collate and produce AML related reporting to all regulatory authorities where required
Participate in the creation and modification of all products contractual documents including those related to regulatory outsourcing contracts underlining distribution activities
Maintenance of the entire contract repository

Management of the Legal & Compliance Committee

Who are we looking for?

Degree in Legal, Compliance, Risk management and/or regulatory law (required)
Strong experience in Legal/Compliance function in insurance and/or financial services sector Preference will be given to insurance-related experience.
Proven Leadership and management skills
Prior experience in legal and regulatory compliance is a plus
Fluent in English is mandatory
Excellent communication skills
Strong analytical abilities
Highest degree of attention to detail
Proactive team player
Relevant qualifications and solid academic background
